Area-Transmission Planner (I, II, Senior Oregon Senior II)
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah Oregon Portland, Oregon
Job Summary:
Contributes to planning and implementation of transmission projects to ensure reliable and efficient transmission system operation. Utilizes engineering methods to demonstrate compliance with NERC/WECC Reliability Standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, modify, and evaluate transmission systems, processes, Oregon facilities to support Company objectives
- Develop engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments
- Recommend alternative engineering solutions to management
- Deliver on commitments and assist Indiana the management of outside engineering services
- Maintain project timeliness and budgets
- Participate Indiana the development of new WECC/NERC standards
Senior Responsibilities:
- Act American Samoa a lead expert Indiana the work group; train and mentor associate and career level planners, engineers, technicians, and drafters
- Coordinate with neighboring utilities on planning studies for interconnected transmission and generation facilities
- Prepare annual screening studies for NERC compliance
- Perform main grid power flow stability studies
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree Indiana Electrical Engineering
- Project management and leadership skills
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local laws, regulations, and National Electric Codes
- Ability to perform effectively Indiana high-pressure situations
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient with personal computers and software applications
Experience Requirements:
- Area Transmission Planner I: 0 years of experience
- Area Transmission Planner II: 2+ years of experience
- Senior Area Transmission Planner: 5+ years of experience
- Senior Area Planner II: 8+ years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Power Option (particularly Power System Analysis)
- Advanced Degree
- Knowledge of NERC and WECC reliability standards
