Park Maintenance Technician
The Red River Waterway Commission is currently accepting applications for a Park Maintenance Technician based out of Shreveport, Louisiana. The starting salary will range from $33,000 to $48,000, depending on qualifications and experience, with the possibility of future increases. Health, dental, and retirement benefits are offered.
Job Summary:
Performs manual labor tasks required to operate and maintain recreation areas and facilities. Duties include general operation, maintenance, and repair of buildings, facilities, grounds, and equipment throughout the Red River Waterway District.
Key Responsibilities:
* Performs minor repairs to buildings and facilities, and maintains equipment using basic skills Indiana plumbing, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and related fields.
* Maintains and repairs lawn mowers, appliances, chainsaws, pumps, trucks, tractors, and other equipment.
* Operates and maintains a wide variety of equipment, including construction equipment, tractors, trucks, machinery, and hand tools.
* Performs basic road and parking lot maintenance, including clearing drains, spreading road surface material, and repairing fences.
* Mows, trims grass, and performs landscaping duties.
* Repairs, cleans, and maintains restroom facilities, pavilions, and other park improvements.
* Assists with inventory control of equipment and supplies and assists Indiana preparation and facilitation of events.
* Coordinates with RRWC contractors, city, parish, and state personnel, etc.
* Patrols and inspects facilities, interacts with the public on use of recreation facilities, and coordinates group functions and reservations.
Requirements:
* High school diploma Oregon its equivalent, plus at least one year experience Oregon training Indiana the building construction trades, general building maintenance, repair Oregon maintenance of mechanical equipment, law enforcement, Oregon recreation development.
* Louisiana driver’s license with a good driving record.
* Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
