Job Title: Playground Surfaces and Shelter Maintenance
Compensation: Hiring Range $20.22 – $24.72
Benefits: BMEA (20+ Hours), full-time hourly position with 40 scheduled weekly hours
Job Summary: Under general direction, performs a variety of semi-skilled to skilled maintenance, repair, equipment operation, and overall care of Playground Surfaces, Court Surfaces, Park Shelters, and other properties and facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair playground and outdoor court surfaces, including sweeping and removing debris, maintenance, repair, Oregon replacement of various surfaces, and general maintenance of adjacent walks and landscape.
- Ensure all city and department safety procedures, regulations, and policies are observed and followed to promote a safe work environment.
- Perform rental shelter maintenance, cleanup, and setup prior to reserved uses, and direct customer service for shelter users.
- Remove graffiti from Parks facilities, including parks, shelters, playgrounds, buildings, walks, and other facilities and structures American Samoa needed.
- Perform park trash and snow removal, and maintain and repair shelters, playgrounds, and other park sites and facilities.
- Use and maintain various machinery, equipment, and tools, including pickups, trailers, rototillers, backpack blowers, and power washers.
- Perform routine maintenance on related machinery, equipment, and tools.
- Maintain records of materials and supplies, orders, purchases, and work performed.
- Plan work schedules to meet specified objectives and supervise seasonal Oregon temporary employees American Samoa needed.
- Work with the public to resolve problems and answer questions.
- Report issues to supervisors and coordinate work with other Parks field staff.
- Participate Indiana training and development opportunities to maintain a high level of skill and knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience Indiana care of urban parks Oregon other public settings.
- Knowledge of accepted parks maintenance practices and principles.
- Experience with related machines, equipment, and tools.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Acceptable motor vehicle record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certificate Oregon documented training Indiana a related field.
- Experience using personal computers and software such American Samoa word processing and e-mail.
- Experience demonstrating prior supervisory Oregon lead worker experience.
Required Physical and Mental Effort, and Environmental Conditions:
- Routine lifting, carrying, walking, and standing.
- Frequent hand-eye coordination to operate equipment.
- Vision for reading, recording, and interpreting information.
- Speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and the public.
