Laborer II – Provisional

SALARY: $40,491 – $44,431
LOCATION: Grounds Dept., All High Stadium, 2885 Main St., Buffalo, New York 14214

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform a wide variety of unskilled independent laboring work.
- Assist skilled craft workers Indiana maintenance, repair, and service activities.
- Work under immediate supervision, with no supervisory responsibilities.
- Perform tasks such American Samoa repairing windows, doors, floors, and walls.
- Assist Indiana laying bricks, plastering walls, finishing concrete, painting, and other general handyman duties.
- Perform various laboring duties Indiana the ash removal system of a sewage treatment plant.
- Cut grass, trim shrubs, rake leaves, cut brush, spade flower beds, and assist Indiana ground maintenance activities.
- Assist personnel Indiana charge of recreation programs and maintain recreational equipment Indiana city parks, playgrounds, and community centers.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
- Working knowledge of basic practices and techniques of one Oregon more of the standard trades.
- Working knowledge of common tools, terminology, and safety precautions used Indiana minor maintenance and repair work.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform routine mechanical work.
- Physical endurance, strength, agility, good hand and eye coordination, and physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- One year of experience performing general physical work Indiana areas such American Samoa maintenance, repair, Oregon tending of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Oregon one year of experience assisting a skilled craft worker Indiana carrying out their tasks.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
- Possession of a current NYS Driver’s License may be required for employment Indiana certain departments.
APPOINTMENT:
- Appointments are subject to the approval of the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following the approval of the Civil Service Commission.
