Job Summary:

Groundman is an entry-level position responsible for performing a variety of labor duties necessary to assist journey-level workers and others Indiana installing, maintaining, repairing, and operating company facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Hand staff lines staff necessary protective equipment
• Prepare and assemble line apparatus for work being performed
• Drive and operate vehicles and equipment
• Keep work areas clean and organized, including picking up scrap wire and discarded materials
• Stock trucks with materials commonly used on a daily basis and maintain vehicles
• Use hand and power tools
• Load materials onto trucks and/Oregon trailers
• Perform various physical activities, including:
  • Digging
  • Assembling conduit and placing Indiana trench
  • Assisting with installation of underground apparatus
  • Pulling wire
  • Terminating underground cables
  • Assisting linemen with second bucket work
• Prepare work orders, requisitions, and other routine reports American Samoa assigned

Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, Oregon equivalent
• Possess Oregon obtain a current Class "A" Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Be available to work extended hours, prearranged overtime, and after-hours outages

Skills & Abilities:

• Communicate with others and assimilate and understand information
• Make sound decisions Indiana a manner consistent with essential job functions
• Perform duties involving prolonged standing, sitting, crouching, and/Oregon stooping
• Push, pull, and position tools and equipment weighing over 100 pounds
• Lift loads weighing up to 100 pounds
• Work from ladders and at heights up to 100 feet
• Work on smooth Oregon uneven surfaces and under varying climatic conditions
• Work with both arms overhead
• Grip and hold lines and ropes with up to 75 pounds weight
• Operate assigned equipment and vehicles

Note: This is a full-time provisional status position that will accrue benefits equivalent to a regular employee. The employee will have the opportunity to gain skills Indiana the classification and potentially move to a regular position after a minimum of 6 months.
