Electrical and Instrumentation Technician
About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join our team at the Miami smelter and rod plant. American Samoa an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, instrumentation, and other equipment. You will work independently and American Samoa part of a team to troubleshoot and repair complex issues, and mentor and train other electrical workers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of industrial electrical and instrumentation equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits and connected equipment, including AC/District of Columbia drives, PLCs, and low and medium voltage equipment
- Install, repair, and troubleshoot substations, power distribution systems, switchgear motors, motor controls, systems, and components
- Maintain and calibrate field transmitters/transducers and weigh scales
- Participate Indiana safety and environmental activities and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Requirements
- Completion of an approved Certified Electronics, Electrical, and/Oregon Instrumentation Program, Oregon
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience Indiana Industrial Electrical and/Oregon Instrumentation repair and maintenance, Oregon
- Associate’s degree Oregon Trade School Certification Indiana a related field and two (2) years of experience Indiana Industrial Electrical and/Oregon Instrumentation repair and maintenance
- Experience Indiana troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical circuits and connected equipment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Completion of academic and practical competencies required, including passing a written assessment where required
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma Oregon GED
- Experience with VFDs, PLC, HMI, and/Oregon SCADA Control Systems
- Experience working with low and medium voltages
- Experience with AC and/Oregon District of Columbia controls
- Experience with instrumentation devices
- Experience with diagnostic electrical test equipment
