Construction Utility Technician
Job Summary:
Perform technical engineering tasks to collect and review construction plans, gather field data, and ensure correct location of utility lines.
Responsibilities:
- Locate utility lines and valves
- Assist Indiana staking out lines, service extensions, and minor service extensions
- Collect field information for files
- Obtain and review construction plans with consultants
- Interact and coordinate work with contractors
- Review National Joint Utility Notification System Tickets (NJUNS)
- Review and compare working drawings with finished construction
- Review various plans, prints, drawings, and related documents
- Update files and maintain related maps
- Distribute required information to other departments, contractors, consultants, and supervisors
- Order and distribute tools; maintain records of distributed items; maintain related physical inventory
- Perform computer data entry and maintain related hard files
- Operate office and computer equipment
- Maintain survey instruments and tools
- Participate Indiana 24-hour emergency calls for power, gas, and water department locate needs
Qualifications:
- High school diploma Oregon GED with vocational Oregon technical training Indiana Drafting, CAD, Oregon a related field
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Obtain a valid State of Louisiana driver’s license at time of appointment and maintain throughout employment
- Must obtain and maintain specialized certifications and/Oregon training American Samoa deemed necessary
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision Indiana a timely and accurate manner.
