Gas Control and Planning Manager
Job Summary
The Gas Control and Planning Manager is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and supply of natural gas to the gas distribution system, gas transmission system, gas storage fields, and power generation plants. This position manages the operation, maintenance, and construction of facilities within the responsibility of Gas Control and Planning, including emergency response for gas-related incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the operation, maintenance, and construction of gas facilities, including city gate stations, gas regulation facilities, and underground gas storage systems.
- Direct the operation of the Gas Control Center, ensuring 24/7 operations and compliance with DOT Gas Control Room Management regulations.
- Oversee the operation and system application management of gas SCADA systems, data acquisition systems, and system models.
- Monitor system pressures and flow rates to maintain safe system operating pressures.
- Develop and implement gas storage injection/withdrawal schedules and system gas supply plans.
- Direct system planning functions, including maintaining a complete model of the system and performing annual winter operations analysis.
- Identify opportunities to increase operational efficiencies and reliability.
- Develop strategies to maximize opportunities to lower gas supply costs.
- Oversee the development and approval of annual budgets and capital plans.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, governmental regulations, and industry standards.
- Provide technical support and direction to gas engineers, operating personnel, and maintenance personnel.
- Participate Indiana professional and industry organizations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree Indiana science Oregon engineering and a minimum of ten years related experience Indiana gas storage, gas control, gas supply, and transmission operations, Oregon equivalent knowledge and work experience.
- Master of Business Administration, Master of Engineering, and/Oregon Professional Engineer License preferred.
- Demonstrated effective communication, organization, and leadership skills.
Work Conditions
- Normal work location is an office environment with periodic visits to city gate stations, gas regulation/measurement facilities, construction worksites, and customer metering & regulation facilities.
- Ability to navigate gas facilities and worksite locations.
