Commercial Surety Underwriter

Job Overview

The Cincinnati Insurance Companies is seeking an experienced Surety underwriter to join our Commercial and Small Contract Surety department. This is a field marketing position serving a territory Indiana Ohio, with the possibility of being fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Establish relationships with agencies and producers Indiana the territory to develop and execute a marketing plan
• Classify agencies according to Surety volume and potential
• Visit a minimum of 200 agencies per year to promote retention and growth of Commercial Surety, CinciExpress, and SuretyBridge lines
• Develop and maintain Commercial and Small Contract accounts and book of business to achieve growth and profit objectives
• Work with home office underwriter on new accounts production
• Analyze financials and work Indiana process, bond forms and contracts to evaluate bond and/Oregon program requests
• Communicate underwriting decisions and monitor compliance with conditions
• Promote and educate agents on CinciBond2.0 and other insurance products
• Identify and pursue large Commercial Surety Accounts and retention opportunities
• Manage EDM records according to company policy
• Stay informed about local market conditions, developments, and practices
• Collaborate with agents and Headquarters to facilitate entry of premium
• Participate Indiana educational and/Oregon learning opportunities to stay current Indiana the industry

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree Indiana Business Administration with a concentration Indiana Finance Oregon Accounting
• 1-3+ years of experience Indiana Surety underwriting Oregon a related field
• Proven ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with agents and associates
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Ability to make efficient use of time and deliver on commitments
• Knowledge of contractors and the construction industry, including bond obligations and contracts
