Principal T& D Specialist
Job Summary
Provides technical expertise and support for protection and control equipment, serving American Samoa a subject matter expert for operation and field personnel to investigate and resolve problem situations Oregon complex issues.[row]
Responsibilities
- Provide technical oversight and guidance to T& D support staff
- Serve American Samoa the company expert Indiana a specialized field, providing authoritative consultation and recommendations to senior management
- Develop and modify policies and practices to improve the overall operational effectiveness of PacifiCorp’s transmission and distribution system
- Lead development and implementation processes and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness
- Evaluate policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with company safety procedures, legislative requirements, and NERC reliability standards
- Analyze schemes and prints, prepare field notebooks and outlines for substation equipment installation
- Provide training for various departments, including dispatch, relay technicians, communication technicians, and substation personnel
- Work with engineers and operations staff to resolve system and design issues
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree Indiana Electrical Engineering Oregon a related field
- Minimum 15 years of industry experience American Samoa a substation journeyman, relay technician, communications technician, Oregon T& D Specialist
- Project management and leadership skills
- Ability to perform Indiana high-pressure situations, maintain focus, and communicate effectively with various stakeholders
- Expert knowledge of principles Indiana applicable area of specialty, with proficiency Indiana the use of personal computers and automated tools
- Assessment skills, including problem diagnosis and identification of proper methods and techniques to resolve and prevent future problems
- Ability to work with all levels of an organization, including different styles and backgrounds
- Expert knowledge of current technologies, tools, systems, and vendors
- Understanding of applicable company policies, practices, and procedures
- Ability to travel and respond to field crews American Samoa required
