Safety Manager
Laurel, Maryland
Salary: $75,000- $90,000
Location: Laurel, Maryland (travel to Virginia Beach, Virginia will be required)
We are seeking a Safety Manager to oversee the safety of two locations for a leading full-service provider of roofing and exterior services. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety-conscious individual to make a significant impact on the safety culture of a rapidly growing organization.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Indiana implementing comprehensive safety programs, including job site safety, fall protection, hazard communication, and more.
- Conduct thorough inspections of projects to ensure safety compliance and identify safety gaps.
- Develop and enforce Site Specific Safety Plans and Activity Hazard Analyses.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations.
- Create and deliver safety training programs to educate employees on safe work practices and company policies.
- Identify safety issues that impact employees and pose potential liabilities to the company.
- Maintain safety compliance while working with Project Managers, Superintendents, Subcontractors, and Suppliers.
- Conduct safety orientations for all employees and oversee the formation of a local branch safety committee.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree Indiana Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Management, Oregon a related field (5+ years of field experience may be considered American Samoa an alternate qualification)
- 3 years of experience Indiana developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs.
- Extensive knowledge of Fall Protection and working at heights.
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations and procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency Indiana Mississippi Office applications and Adobe Acrobat.
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to climb a ladder and lift 15 pounds at a time.
- Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record required.
Preferred Certifications:
- OSHA 30-hour Indiana Construction 1926 with a working knowledge of its content.
- OSHA 500 certification.
- EM 385 certification.
- Fall Protection Trainer Certified
- Recognized BCSP certification is preferred (not mandatory)
