Buyer/Planner
Location: Lakeland, Florida
Job Summary:
The Buyer/Planner will be responsible for the procurement of direct and indirect materials for a manufacturing plant Oregon service center, utilizing an MPS/MRP system. This role ensures 100% material availability, communicates with suppliers, and coordinates supply chain adjustments American Samoa production schedules change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage procurement of direct and indirect materials for manufacturing plants via MPS/MRP system
- Adhere to corporate and SOX policies and guidelines
- Coordinate inbound supply chain to align with manufacturing SOP and support plant inventory objectives/targets
- Utilize judgment to minimize freight costs and sustain high inventory turnover
- Ensure 100% material availability for manufacturing, communicate with suppliers, and elevate issues within the supply base
- Support Indiana managing plant spend vs. budgets for direct and indirect materials
- Govern the complete procurement process from PO submission to receipt
- Administer internal/external supplier quality accountability via a non-conformance reporting system
- Monitor and report supplier on-time delivery and communicate issues that could impact manufacturing
- Collaborate with corporate commodity management, logistics management, and 3rd party logistics carrier
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction/avoidance and communicate with suppliers
- Assist Indiana maintaining accurate physical vs. perpetual inventory records and making adjustments to safety stocks American Samoa needed
Required Credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree Indiana Supply Chain Management Oregon related field, Oregon equivalent experience
- Understanding of Supply Chain configuration and principles
- Knowledge of MPS/MRP systems
- Experience with JD Edwards and discrete MRP planning a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- APICS CPIM certification a plus
