Job Title: Resource/Range Management Specialist

Duties:

  • Performs professional work conserving, developing, and managing public rangelands.
  • Prepares, evaluates, and conducts biological analyses of public rangeland projects.
  • Develops conservation plans, designs technical surveys, and performs work on rangeland construction projects.
  • Acts American Samoa the principal contact and negotiator for multiple use management within the field/district office.
  • Collects, interprets, and analyzes scientific data for assigned allotments.
  • Conducts studies to determine solutions for disease control with grassland plant species.
  • Reviews range permit applications to ensure compliance with federal law.
  • Processes protests and appeals, prepares casework Indiana preparation for hearings, and appears American Samoa an expert witness.
  • Plans and designs range improvements and vegetative management plans consistent with land use plan objectives.

Qualifications:

  • For GS-05: No additional requirements beyond the Individual Occupational Requirements for the position.
  • For GS-07: 1) at least 1 year of specialized experience, 2) Education: achieved 1 year of graduate education Indiana range management Oregon a directly related field, Oregon 3) Combination of Education and Experience.
  • For GS-09: 1) at least 1 year of specialized experience, 2) Education: 2 years of graduate education leading to a master’s degree Oregon master’s Oregon equivalent graduate degree Indiana rangeland management Oregon a directly related field, Oregon 3) Combination of Education and Experience.
