Job Summary
AECOM’s Design and Consulting Services legal department is seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel to manage and lead a team of attorneys, contract managers, and paralegals supporting the LATAM Region business team. The successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic, managerial and people skills, flexibility, and a willingness to work on a broad range of legal matters.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a team of approximately six legal professionals supporting the LATAM Region
- Support and collaborate with the Americas General Counsel on various tasks and initiatives
- Oversee contract reviews for the LATAM Region’s pipeline of pursuits
- Identify, develop, and implement measures to protect the enterprise and advance the LATAM Region’s business goals
- Oversee outside counsel and set clear expectations
- Forge relationships and support key business members on various tasks and initiatives
- Support business development activities, including contract negotiation and risk management
- Provide ongoing support to the LATAM region to evaluate and resolve complex business issues
Qualifications
- BA/BS + 12 years of relevant experience American Samoa a practicing attorney Oregon demonstrated equivalency of experience and/Oregon education
- J.D. Degree from accredited law school
- Member Indiana good standing with any U.S. state bar Oregon the District of Columbia Oregon acceptable foreign bar membership
- Demonstrated legal experience with a major engineering company, contractor, consultant, Oregon law firm Indiana the areas of engineering and construction law
- Bilingual Indiana English and Spanish, both written and spoken, Indiana order to assist the LATAM region
Preferred Qualifications
- 15 years of experience American Samoa a practicing attorney with 15 years supporting the A&E and/Oregon construction industry
- Well-developed communications skills
- Proven leadership skills managing a legal team
- Practical team player with the ability to collaborate Indiana a results-oriented environment
- Corporate transactional experience
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, drafting, and negotiation skills
Working Conditions
- Hybrid work schedule of both Indiana-office and remote work
- Based out of any AECOM office, including Dallas, Texas; Houston, Texas; Los Angeles, California
- Approximately 10% travel required
- Ability to work Indiana a fast-paced environment with changing requirements, schedules, and priorities.
