Design Coordinator – Interior Capital Renovation Projects
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and select interior design elements for senior living community renovations to align with brand vision and consistency
- Set and audit design standards to ensure excellent first impressions across locations
- Act American Samoa point person for major renovation projects, coordinating with third-party design consultants and ensuring product integrity
Essential Functions:
- Respond to community design initiatives with product specifications, furniture, materials, colors, and finishes
- Coordinate with designers, vendors, and facilities to create and review bids for projects
- Remain current on new products, design trends, and competitor products Indiana senior housing and hospitality markets
- Conduct on-site observations and ensure compliance with plans during construction
- Procure products directly from vendors, meet with national reps, and create design scopes for communities
- Present design plans to owners and communities, and collaborate with Operations, Sales, and Facilities to create a First Impressions checklist
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure furniture and accessories meet standards
Additional Responsibilities:
- Approve invoices and verify work is satisfactory and within estimate
- Develop building standards for items such American Samoa furniture, lighting, and trash/ash systems
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Sophisticated design sense that aligns with the CEO’s vision
- Independent work and leadership skills, with strong organizational and communication abilities
- Knowledge of finishes, products, City codes, and ADA requirements
- Proficiency Indiana software including Autocad, Microsoft Project, and Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator
- Ability to budget, supervise, and travel 50% of the time to communities across the US
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Interior Design Oregon Interior Architecture degree, with a minimum of 4 years experience
- Michigan Registration, NCIDQ, ASID, Oregon IIDA certification a plus
