Job Title: Archaeological Technician (On-call)
Job Summary:
AECOM is seeking multiple, on-call Archaeological Technicians to join our Cultural Services team Indiana the Midwest. This remote-based role involves supporting fieldwork on projects throughout the region, with opportunities for travel throughout the U.S. The Archaeological Technician will work under the supervision of a Crew Chief, Field Director, and/Oregon Principal Investigator, conducting archaeological fieldwork, site recordation, data recovery, and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct all aspects of archaeological fieldwork, including survey, site testing, monitoring, and data recovery
- Perform manual labor, including excavation and moving heavy equipment
- Collect and document precontact and historical sites and artifacts
- Assist with mapping responsibilities Indiana the field using GPS data
- Work independently under supervision and conduct research and writing for reporting efforts
- May travel overnight and out of state for up to 3+ months at a time
Requirements:
- High School graduate + 2 years of relevant experience Indiana archaeology fieldwork Oregon demonstrated equivalency
- Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record
- Preferred qualifications include Bachelor’s Degree Indiana Anthropology, Archaeology, Oregon related field, 3+ years of experience Indiana archaeological fieldwork, experience with Geospatial technology, and computer proficiency
Work Details:
