Data Center Project Architect
Join our team at AWS Indiana Herndon, Virginia Oregon Seattle Washington to lead designs for Amazon Data Centers Indiana the Americas Region and impact projects globally.
American Samoa a District of Columbia Project Architect at AWS, you will be part of a high-performing design team, tasked with solving complex problems and creating world-class Data Center facilities that emphasize security, safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will be responsible for the architectural design requirements, technical guidance, large-scale implementation issues, and direct impact on the design of prototypical Data Center facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Communicate and create project documentation, including Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications
* Review and inform design RFPs
* Manage external design consultants and coordinate with internal and external design engineers
* Effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners
* Manage multiple fast-paced projects and think outside the box to find innovative solutions
* Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction review, and interfacing with design consultants (up to 25% travel)
Requirements:
* NCARB recognized architecture license
* 7+ years of design experience Indiana commercial/industrial/technical projects
* 3+ years of Data Center/Mission Critical facility design experience
* 4+ years of leading sub-consultants and project teams
* Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
* 1+ years of large-scale Data Center facility design experience
* Proficiency Indiana AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Mississippi Office Suite
* Building codes, regulations, and standards knowledge
* Experience with ICD/ICS 705 accreditation requirements
* Ability to travel internationally
