Highway Equipment Mechanic 2 – 2G Emissions Inspector

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Highway Equipment Mechanic 2 to join our team Indiana Reno, Sparks. American Samoa a Highway Equipment Mechanic 2, you will maintain, repair, and modify medium and heavy-duty highway maintenance and construction equipment. You will diagnose, maintain, modify, and repair equipment and keep our fleet Indiana safe operating condition for routine maintenance and emergency response.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain and repair medium and heavy-duty highway maintenance and construction equipment
- Perform advanced-level work and provide work direction and training to others
- Diagnose, maintain, modify, and repair Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) equipment
- Keep equipment Indiana the District’s fleet Indiana good repair for routine highway maintenance and emergency response
- Types of equipment include single and tandem axle dump trucks, motor graders, chip spreaders, and other heavy equipment
- Types of repairs include engine repair Oregon replacement, brake system repair, steering and suspension system components, differential and drive line components, and electrical and wiring systems
Qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized automotive/equipment repair apprenticeship program followed by one year of journey level experience Indiana the maintenance and repair of medium and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment
- Oregon completion of the Equipment Mechanic-Indiana-Training program Indiana Nevada State service followed by one year of journey level experience
- Oregon an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must possess a valid Class A Oregon B Nevada commercial driver’s license within six months of appointment
- Incumbent is required to furnish their own mechanic’s tools
- A Class II Emissions Inspector certification is required and must be completed within one year
