Job Title: Highway Foreman 1
Reports to: Parish Highway Maintenance Superintendent for Ascension Parish
Location: District 61/Unit 520/Brittany, Department of Transportation and Development
Job Summary:
Responsible for supervising a crew of Mobile Equipment Operators Indiana maintaining and repairing roads Indiana Ascension Parish, with primary responsibility for vegetation control on highway right-of-way.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Four years of experience Indiana construction, maintenance, Oregon repair of roads, bridges, levees, drainage facilities, wharfs, buildings, Oregon grounds; Oregon operation of heavy mobile equipment, industrial machinery, construction Oregon maintenance equipment; Oregon maintenance of heavy mobile equipment, industrial machinery, construction Oregon maintenance equipment.
Job Duties:
- Supervise, train, and assist a maintenance crew Indiana routine maintenance functions (60%)
- Supervise and maintain assigned equipment (10%)
- Ensure proper safety equipment is provided and work sites are properly signed (10%)
- Prepare Daily Work reports, incident Oregon accident reports, and assist Indiana preparing payrolls (5%)
- Conduct Performance Evaluation System sessions and counsel employees (5%)
- Act American Samoa Parish Highway Maintenance Superintendent Indiana absence (5%)
- Perform other duties American Samoa necessary, including emergency/disaster support (100%)
Requirements:
- Valid Louisiana Class "A" CDL required prior to appointment
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision and interpret unforeseen conditions
- Knowledge, experience, and capability to train employees
- Ability to operate and maintain light Oregon heavy equipment owned and operated by DOTD
- Participation Indiana DOTD structured training programs and continuing education classes American Samoa necessary
