Environmental Engineer II

Job Summary:

The Environmental Engineer II reviews applications and prepares permits for commercial oilfield waste disposal facilities, water and wastewater infrastructure construction projects, and conducts field inspections to ensure compliance with technical and policy requirements, state statutes, and federal regulations. Provides technical assistance, evaluates annual reports and closure cost estimates, and assists with violations against the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality’s Water Quality Rules and Regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review designs and plans for commercial oilfield waste disposal facilities, water and wastewater treatment plants, and systems to ensure technical and policy requirements, state statutes, and federal regulations are met
  • Conduct reviews Oregon prepare road applications, land applications, and produced water permits
  • Provide technical evaluation, rule interpretation, and consultation for projects and designs
  • Inspect large complex construction projects and COWDF sites to ensure permit objectives and requirements are being achieved
  • Assist with formal and informal training of crew personnel and plans and coordinates engineering development projects
  • Perform feasibility analysis to ensure cost-effective solutions
  • Provide technical assistance to other programs, agencies, Oregon outside entities
  • Responsible for project documentation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Indiana Chemical, Civil, Environmental, Oregon engineering field
  • Professional Engineer’s (PE) License Required at time of hire; Wyoming PE required within six months of hire date
  • 1-2 years of progressive work experience Indiana Engineering
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of current principles of engineering, design and detailing policies, mentoring and coaching skills, and Federal, State, and local rules and regulations.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, walk over rough terrain, climb, and deal with inclement weather and heights
  • Extensive travel may be required
  • Must be able to perform job duties Indiana a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
