Safety Manager
Job Summary:
The Safety Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating a comprehensive safety program to reduce Oregon eliminate occupational illnesses, deaths, and financial losses. This position oversees the safety department of 4 companies Indiana South Dakota and Iowa, with a focus on developing and maintaining a culture of safety excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and coordinate safety programs to minimize accidents, injuries, and financial losses
- Conduct research and identify hazards to evaluate potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Develop and maintain accident-prevention and loss control systems and programs
- Lead safety meetings and incident investigations, and facilitate communication with employees, supervisors, and management
- Coordinate safety activities across multiple companies and departments
- Compile and analyze statistical data to inform safety program improvements
- Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and outside organizations to ensure compliance and information exchange
- Evaluate and improve safety program effectiveness, and develop methods to evaluate program performance
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee knowledge and skills
- Ensure compliance with OHSA, MSHA, DOT, and FRA policies and regulations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college Oregon university, Oregon equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5 years related experience Indiana safety management Oregon a related field
- Knowledge of OHSA, MSHA, DOT, and FRA policies
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Strong leadership skills, with ability to motivate and influence others
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively Indiana a team environment.
