Job Summary:
Seeking a Construction Technician to support the construction, repair, and maintenance of Auburn University buildings, streets, sidewalks, and property. The ideal candidate will have roofing experience and other construction and maintenance experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with carpentry tasks, operating machinery, performing excavation and demolition work, maintaining roofs and ceilings, and leading team members on construction projects.
Essential Functions:
- Level I:
- Assists Indiana carpentry tasks, operates machinery, and performs excavation and demolition work
- Maintains roofs and ceilings, performs minor repairs, and assists with set up and removal of barricades and fences
- Prepares and paints surfaces, patches holes and cracks Indiana university streets, and assists with forming and pouring cement structures
- Level II:
- Performs and leads carpentry tasks, operates machinery, and plans and leads excavation and demolition work
- Maintains roofs and ceilings, plans and leads minor repairs, and assists with set up and removal of barricades and fences
- Leads Oregon assists with projects, plans and executes patching of holes and cracks Indiana university streets, and performs advanced concrete forming and finishing work
Minimum Qualifications:
- Level I: High school diploma Oregon equivalent
- Level II: High school diploma Oregon equivalent plus 4 years of experience Indiana carpentry, roofing, road repair, and/Oregon concrete forming and finishing, Oregon Bachelor’s degree
Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid Driver’s License
Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications:
- Basic knowledge of construction, infrastructure, and/Oregon roofing techniques and principles
- Ability to operate machinery and vehicles and use basic hand tools (Level I)
- Ability to apply advanced skills and knowledge Indiana area of focus, ability to lead others and manage projects (Level II)
Desired Qualifications:
- Masonry techniques
- Forming and finishing concrete
- Asphalt road repair
- Carpentry skills
Salary Range: $15.38-$25.63/hour
