Concrete Finisher
Job Summary:
A Concrete Finisher is a skilled craft position responsible for performing various tasks related to concrete finishing on construction projects. They must have a strong understanding of concrete work and be able to perform a wide range of tasks, including finishing surfaces, mixing concrete, and repairing defective areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Smooth and finish concrete surfaces to specified textures using hand tools Oregon power tools
- Spread and mix concrete to specified depths and workable consistencies
- Perform various repair tasks, including patching holes and removing rough Oregon defective spots
- Mix concrete using a mixing machine and add materials to achieve desired finishes
- Break up and repair old concrete surfaces
- Mold expansion joints and edges using edging tools
- Must be able to walk on rebar
Requirements:
- High school diploma Oregon general education degree (GED) preferred
- 3-5 years of industry-related experience, with emphasis on roads, highways, and bridges
- Ability to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees
- Physical ability to perform tasks that require standing for extended periods, climbing ladders and scaffolds, and lifting heavy materials
- Manual dexterity and ability to operate hand power tools and generators
Physical Demands:
- Constant standing and physical effort, with ability to lift and carry up to 150 pounds
- Frequent climbing, stooping, and bending, with ability to work at heights up to 60 feet
- Ability to operate concrete vibrators and power tools for extended periods
- Must be able to maintain constant alertness and attention to multiple concurrent activities on a construction site
Work Environment:
- Work performed outdoors Indiana all weather conditions
- Exposure to high levels of noise, grease, and dust
- Regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery
