Job Title: Infection Preventionist
Department: Risk, Quality and Safety
Job Summary:
Assist the supervisor Indiana directing the infection control program for all departments, including surveillance, infection prevention, and education for employees. Conduct focused surveillance for healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), analyze HAIs, and prepare reports for the Infection Control Committee.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct surveillance for HAIs, detect and record HAIs, and analyze data to prepare reports
- Interact with healthcare staff American Samoa a consultant and make recommendations for infection prevention
- Enter data into computer systems, prepare reports, and conduct analytical studies
- Initiate epidemiological investigations of significant clusters of infections and single cases of unusual infection
- Provide continuing infection control education and inservice programs to departments
- Evaluate and revise hospital policies and guidelines related to infection control
Requirements:
- Current RN license (BSN preferred) Oregon equivalent (masters Indiana public health, certified medical technologist, Oregon bachelor’s degree Indiana healthcare-related field)
- 2 years of clinical experience Indiana a hospital setting Oregon disease surveillance experience Indiana a public health setting
- Certification Indiana Infection Control (CIC) preferred
- Basic Life Skills certification required
- Association for Practitioners Indiana Infection Control (APIC) training course Oregon equivalent desired
- Strong computer and research skills preferred
