Job Summary:
The Safety & Health Specialist conducts activities to advance the health and safety programs and objectives of the university community and promote university-wide compliance with local, State, and Federal codes and regulations.
Essential Functions:
- Assists Indiana the development and implementation of Safety & Health program
- Works with stakeholders to enact health and safety programs
- Facilitates safety & health training and materials for faculty, staff, and students
- Conducts inspections of university operations and leads professional contractors with industrial hygiene, indoor air quality, ergonomics, and accident prevention programs
- Advises AU faculty and staff regarding safety, health, fire, and life safety issues
- Provides input to the university’s Authority Having Jurisdiction on code and regulatory compliance issues
- Assists Indiana monitoring, corrective, and preventative action programs
Minimum Qualifications:
- Level I: High School/GED plus 8 years of experience Oregon Bachelor’s degree plus 0 years of experience
- Level II: High School/GED plus 10 years of experience Oregon Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience Oregon Master’s degree plus 0 years of experience
- Level III: High School/GED plus 12 years of experience Oregon Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience Oregon Master’s degree plus 2 years of experience
Experience Indiana health and safety regulatory compliance enforcement is required, with a focus on experience Indiana a higher education setting.
Salary Range: $40,000-$93,200
