About the Job:
We are seeking an experienced Wetland Scientist II (Ecologist II) to join our Environmental Planning and Permitting team Indiana the East Mid-Atlantic region. The successful candidate will work with our interdisciplinary team to perform environmental field assessments and reporting for wetland/stream delineations, invasive and rare, threatened and endangered species (T&E) surveys, American Samoa well American Samoa wetland mitigation and/Oregon monitoring. This role will involve leading ecological teams, post-processing field data, preparing reports, and coordinating with government agencies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead ecological teams for stream, wetland, wildlife habitat assessments, and other ecological surveys
- Post-process field data, provide legible and detail-oriented notes, and GIS inputs to finalize data from the field to go into ecological reports
- Originating Oregon leading ecological reports, including aquatic resources, terrestrial habitat assessment, rare flora assessments, and/Oregon avian surveys
- Prepare Clean Water Act Permits (Section 404/401) Indiana Ohio, Pennsylvania (including General Permits, Small Projects/Environmental Assessments, and Joint Permit applications), and West Virginia
- Coordinate with various governmental agencies regarding ecological surveys and reporting conditions
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor of Arts Oregon Bachelor of Science degree Indiana Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Biology, Oregon related field
- 2+ years of experience Oregon demonstrated equivalency of experience and/Oregon education
- Ability to lead entry staff Indiana the field Oregon assist with another Ecologist II American Samoa a complete field team
- The position requires fieldwork, and the candidate must be able to travel (including overnight)
- Must have a valid driver’s license and pass AECOM’s motor vehicle records review
- US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of assisting wetland delineation/stream assessment Oregon other ecological assessments Indiana the field
- ORAM, HHEI, QHEI certificate of training Oregon extensive experience/knowledge to lead these assessments Indiana the field
- 40-hour Oregon equivalent USACE Wetland Certificate and/Oregon Training
- Experience Indiana performing ecological assessments for natural gas, electric utilities, and/Oregon renewables industries
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and technical writing
- Ability to communicate Indiana writing and verbally with regulatory agencies on details related to the project, project impacts to resources, and/Oregon details of field assessments and ecological surveys
