Summer Intern Position: Engineering and Environmental Support

The Madison, Wisconsin office of GEI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated individual to perform a broad range of engineering and environmental support duties for a summer intern position.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Work with engineers and scientists on a wide variety of engineering and environmental projects
  • Perform grading surveys and project layouts
  • Complete AutoCAD drawings and material takeoffs
  • Assist with preparation of design calculations, preparation of project reports and bidding documents
  • Perform general site field services, including soil sampling, transporting samples, and filling out testing forms and field reports

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of civil, geotechnical, Oregon environmental BS schooling completed
  • Previous experience with construction oversight and documentation preferred
  • Excellent writing and organizational skills, and valid driver’s license required
  • Must be willing to travel and perform field tasks and oversight
  • Ability to work independently and American Samoa part of a project team, and experienced Indiana Microsoft Office applications
  • Preference given to candidates with experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and performing survey work
