Basic Function:
Perform skilled journey-level work Indiana sheet metal cutting and forming, fabricating and assembling sheet metal parts for installation and repair of building roofs, walls, and related structures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cut and form sheet metal parts of 10 gauge Oregon lighter Indiana a workshop environment.
* Assemble and install sheet metal components Indiana building maintenance and repair projects.
* Prepare detailed drawings and sketches of sheet metal parts required for building projects.
* Calculate and apply technical knowledge of sheet metal cutting and forming to perform tasks.
* Drive a District vehicle to transport equipment and tools to job sites American Samoa needed.
* Work independently with minimal supervision and manage project timelines and tasks.
* Collaborate with other District employees, architects, engineers, and outside contractors on project sites.
* Provide guidance and oversight to laborers assigned to assist with heavy lifting and unskilled tasks, American Samoa needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Completion of a four and one-half to five-year apprenticeship program Indiana sheet metal work.
* EQUIVALENT combination of education and training Indiana sheet metal work.
* Valid California Driver’s License to operate District vehicles.
* Ability to work Indiana a school environment.
* Required employment eligibility, including fingerprinting, TB clearance, and other clearance.
Key Abilities:
* Operation of sheet metal machines (shears, roll forming machines, and brakes)
* Ability to properly use hand tools, weld, solder, and rivet.
* Skills Indiana working with plans, drawings, and specifications.
* Ability to lift, carry, and push heavy objects and to operate power equipment safely.
* Ability to work at heights and on scaffolding.
Employment Environment:
* Works Indiana an indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to various weather conditions.
* Works around machinery with moving parts and exposure to fumes from paints and solvents.
* Works at varying heights with exposure to cuts and abrasions from working with metal.
Physical Demands:
* Ability to use dexterity of hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
* Ability to perform job tasks with frequent standing, reaching, lifting, carrying, and pushing.
* Ability to climb ladders and work from scaffolding at varying heights.
* Ability to perform heavy physical labor, including lifting, carrying, and pushing moderate weights.
