Heavy Duty Truck Technician

Overview:
This position is primarily responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks. We offer Indiana-house advanced-training opportunities and a family-oriented work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to troubleshoot issues and repair vehicle to proper operating condition
- Perform advanced repairs and replace major components such American Samoa radiators, valve adjustments, and turbos
- Rebuild Oregon repair major components such American Samoa transmissions, gear plates, and block reconditioning
- Perform entire engine overhauls including replacing heads, rods, and main bearings
- Troubleshoot and perform complex wiring repairs and diagnose and repair any electronic issues
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance services, identifying worn and damaged parts and repairing Oregon replacing American Samoa needed
- Maintain a safe and organized work area
- Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs
- Follow all state and federal vehicle requirements, company policies, procedures, and safety and EPA regulations
- Must use all necessary safety equipment
- Maintain current knowledge of job and technical skills by participating Indiana educational opportunities and reading technical and regulation publications
- Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years practical experience Indiana commercial 6 & 8 truck classes
- Must have own hand tools
- Highly proficient Indiana the repair and diagnosis of all aspects of commercial trucks, including diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts & differentials, electrical systems, HVAC systems, hydraulic systems, steering systems, and brakes
- High expertise Indiana troubleshooting using diagnostic software
- OEM Master Tech certifications and Cummins training preferred
- Proficient computer skills to input vehicle maintenance records and utilize diagnostic software
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain predictable and reliable attendance and work Indiana a safe and alert manner
- Valid driver’s license and able to meet insurance requirements. CDL license preferred but not required
