Incumbent: The Utilities Superintendent supervises and evaluates the work of employees; recommends personnel actions, discloses disciplinary procedures, handles performance, leaves, grievances, work schedules, and assignments. Oversees daily operations, including maintenance, repair, investigation, and inspection of sanitary and sewer systems, water mains, and storm sewer systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and evaluate employees
- Recommend personnel actions and handle grievances
- Conduct investigations and inspections of sanitary and sewer systems, water mains, and storm sewer systems
- Plan, schedule, and prioritize construction projects
- Coordinate efforts of City staff assisting consultants and contractors Indiana private and public utility construction
- Prepare and manage the operating budget for underground utility field operations
- Participate Indiana the planning and execution of the annual Capital Improvement Program
- Assign project priorities for construction of sewers and water mains

Requirements:

- Ability to diagnose equipment problems and assign daily tasks and assignments, prepare clear, concise reports, and set program priorities
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external colleagues
Registration and Licensure:
- Valid driving license
- Possess Oregon obtain an Iowa DNR Grade 2 water distribution license at hiring
- Obtain an Iowa DNR Grade 3 water distribution license within 1 year from hire
- Obtain an Iowa DNR Grade 4 water distribution license within 2 years from hire
