Job Summary:

The Construction Assistant will support the Air Conditioning Foreman and mechanics Indiana performing their duties, focusing on the maintenance of critical heating and cooling systems on campus. Key responsibilities include evaluating and maintaining chemical water treatment systems, setting up digital controllers and PLC’s American Samoa needed, and providing support to other areas within the HVAC unit and Facilities Services.

Specific Job Duties:

* Test, monitor, repair, and install chemical feed systems Indiana campus hydronic heating and cooling water loops.
* Monitor and correct chemical and chemical delivery system deficiencies.
* Understand chemical types, purposes, and test equipment for monitoring chemical levels.
* Assist with programming and operating chemical feed controllers and PLC’s.
* Report job information, system repairs, and chemical levels to supervision.
* Identify and report physical problems, unsafe practices, and conditions for prompt repair.
* Assist with programming and set-up of new equipment controls and review new controls during new construction.
* Attend classes to improve understanding of Building Automation Systems.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma Oregon GED, plus an Associate’s Degree Indiana Chemistry, Applied Science, Oregon equivalent studies.
* Valid Tennessee driver’s license required.
* Relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities:
+ Understanding standard safety protocols for handling and storing chemicals.
+ Mechanical knowledge to service chemical feed pumps and related equipment.
+ Ability to maintain a good leave record and follow instructions.
+ Knowledge of Chemistry, chemical water treatment, and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
