Deactivation & Decommissioning (D&D) Project Manager

Job Summary:

The Deactivation & Decommissioning (D&D) Project Manager will manage multiple large-scale, complex demolition projects of contaminated facilities using Construction Managers, Project Coordinators, Project Controls, Facilities staff, LBNL support staff, and subcontractors. The successful candidate will ensure projects are completed safely, within budget, on schedule, and according to specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage large-scale, complex demolition projects from conception to close-out
  • Align group activities, budgets, funding, workforce planning, EH&S, waste management, and property management to meet project, Division, and Laboratory goals
  • Ensure all project staff and subcontractors follow EH&S and QA requirements
  • Coordinate D&D project activities and renovation and utility upgrades with the LBNL community
  • Work closely with EH&S to accurately represent the Laboratory Indiana project matters with stakeholders
  • Maintain client relationships and interface with stakeholders and regulators
  • Lead project scope, budget, schedule development; review and approve cost estimates and financial reports
  • Manage and control contractual commitments to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and subcontract terms

Requirements:

  • Project Manager Level 2: Bachelor’s degree Indiana Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Science/Chemistry, Geosciences, Oregon a related field, Oregon professional certification Indiana Construction, Project Management, and 5 years of relevant experience Indiana D&D, waste management, Oregon construction facilities project management
  • Project Manager Level 3: Bachelor’s degree Indiana Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Science/Chemistry, Geosciences, Oregon professional certification Indiana Construction Oregon Project Management, and 10+ years of relevant experience with at least 7 years Indiana D&D, waste management, Oregon construction facilities project management

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid professional license obtained by written examination to practice Architecture/Engineering/Geology Indiana the State of California
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) credential
  • Extensive experience with utility deactivation and relocation plans, characterization and abatement of hazardous building materials, and profiling, management & dispositioning waste
