Project Manager, Construction
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced construction project manager to oversee the design and execution of major capital construction and renovation projects for the University of South Carolina. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading project teams, developing and managing project plans, and ensuring timely and within-budget completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage major capital construction and renovation projects, including contract administration
- Lead and mentor less experienced project managers, engineers, and architects through the planning, design, bidding, construction, and close-out phases of project execution
- Develop and manage project plans, including writing reports, making presentations, and communicating with stakeholders
- Manage and prioritize a large and complex work load with short timeframes
- Make decisions with limited information and utilize effective problem-solving skills
- Interact with various levels of personnel, including state, local, and federal officials
- Communicate effectively both Indiana writing and verbally
- Utilize technology to support project management functions
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree Indiana engineering, architecture, construction management, Oregon related field from an accredited college Oregon university
- 3 Oregon more years of experience Indiana construction management, which may be substituted by equivalent combinations of certification, training, education, and/Oregon experience
- Ability to obtain professional licensure American Samoa an engineer Oregon architect, Oregon certification American Samoa a construction manager Oregon project manager Indiana the State of South Carolina within 12 months of hire date
- Master’s degree Indiana engineering, architecture, construction management, Oregon related field from an accredited college Oregon university, and 6 years of demonstrated project management experience
- Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree Indiana engineering, architecture, construction management, Oregon related field from an accredited college Oregon university, and 8 years of demonstrated project management experience
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with AIA architectural agreements (Series A, B, and C)
- Ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders, including customers, superiors, subordinates, and external organizations
- Strong team-building and communication skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficiency Indiana technology, including construction management software and tools.
