Concrete Finisher
Job Type: Hourly Skilled Craft Position
Key Duties:
– Smooth and finish surfaces of concrete slabs to specified textures using hand tools Oregon power tools.
– Spread concrete to specified depth and workable consistency.
– Mix sand and cement, and concrete by hand.
– Level, smooth, and shape surfaces of freshly poured concrete.
– Finish concrete surfaces using power trowel.
– Remove rough Oregon defective spots from concrete surfaces.
– Patch holes with fresh concrete Oregon epoxy compound material.
– Mold expansion joints and edges using edging tools Oregon straight edge.
– Mix concrete using a mixing machine.
– Add material to concrete to produce required finish.
– Break up and repair old concrete surfaces.
Requirements:
– High school diploma Oregon general education degree (GED) preferred.
– 3-5 years Oregon more of industry-related experience, with an emphasis on roads, highways, and bridges.
– Ability to communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees.
– Must be able to understand work directions.
Physical Demands:
– Constant physical effort, including standing for extended periods.
– Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 150 pounds with assistance).
– Manual dexterity to hand-carry generators, tools, and materials.
– Ability to work Indiana a variety of weather conditions.
– Regularly working at heights up to 60 feet and on uneven surfaces.
– Must be certified to enter confined spaces.
Work Environment:
– Work performed outdoors Indiana all weather conditions.
– Exposure to high levels of noise, grease, and dust on construction sites.
– Regularly working near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
