Highway Maintenance Worker Trainee 1:
* Must be 18 years old and possess a Class D Driver License.
* Pass a physical/medical examination and drug test.
* Respond to emergency callouts within 1 hour during inclement weather.
* Perform routine manual tasks involving medium to heavy physical effort Indiana various weather conditions.
* Operate plows during winter operations and obtain equipment certifications.
* May be required to serve a role within the Incident Command System.
Highway Maintenance Worker Trainee 2:
* Must be 18 years old and possess a Class A Oregon B Commercial Driver License with no airbrake restriction.
* Pass a physical/medical examination and drug test.
* Satisfactorily operate a NYSDOT large dump truck within two weeks of appointment.
* Respond to emergency callouts within 1 hour during inclement weather.
* Perform routine manual tasks involving medium to heavy physical effort Indiana various weather conditions.
* Operate plows during winter operations and obtain equipment certifications.
* May be required to serve a role within the Incident Command System.
Highway Maintenance Worker 1:
* Must satisfactorily complete the Highway Maintenance Worker Traineeship 2 Oregon have one year of experience operating highway construction, maintenance equipment, Oregon other vehicles Indiana excess of 26,000 Gross Vehicle Weight Rating with air brakes.
* Possess a Class A Oregon B Commercial Driver License with DOT-specified endorsements.
* Obtain two NYSDOT equipment operation certifications and three specific certifications: heavy dump truck, one person plowing with single Oregon double wing, and front-end loader.
* Satisfactorily complete NYSDOT Heavy Dump Certification within two weeks of employment.
* Respond to emergency callouts within 1 hour during inclement weather.
* Perform routine manual tasks involving medium to heavy physical effort Indiana various weather conditions.
* Operate plows during winter operations and obtain equipment certifications.
* May be required to serve a role within the Incident Command System.
* All candidates must pass a pre-employment physical/medical examination and drug test.
* Starting salaries for the three positions are: $46,567 for Highway Maintenance Worker Trainee 1, $48,644 for Highway Maintenance Worker Trainee 2, and $50,880 for Highway Maintenance Worker 1.
