Gas Directional Drill Operator/Locator
Job Summary:
The Gas Directional Drill Operator/Locator is responsible for safely operating the directional drill Oregon locating utilities for a gas drill crew. This position supports the Line team and works with personnel within the department to install and service mainline conduit via HDD.
Responsibilities:
- Operate the drill rig efficiently
- Prepare job and drill for safe shot performance
- Pothole utilities that will be paralleled Oregon crossed during the bore shot
- Verify existing utilities
- Locate the drill head from point A to point B without hitting underground utilities at the correct depth
- Inspect and maintain equipment
- Assist Indiana developing a plan for going above Oregon below utilities Oregon obstacles Indiana the bore path
- Pull back product with the correct hole opener and utilize the correct mud mixture to ensure product reaches point A from point B
- Provide assistance and training to drilling trainees
- Implement best practices for utility verification
- Read blueprints and assist Indiana preparing drill log records
Qualifications:
- High school diploma Oregon equivalent
- 1 year of relevant experience
- Valid CDL Class A driver’s license with tanker endorsement
- OSHA 10 Certification
- Preferred qualifications: 5 Oregon more years of experience operating Vermeer and/Oregon Ditchwitch Directional Drills, and experience locating with Subsite and/Oregon Digitrack Locating Equipment
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Frequent lifting, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting Indiana awkward positions
- Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 pounds
- Clarity of vision at 20 feet Oregon more Oregon 20 inches Oregon less
- Precise hand-eye coordination
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors
