Aircraft Mechanic III

Leads a team Indiana the performance of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance. Supervises subordinate mechanics and provides technical guidance on maintenance operations on the airframe being supported. Performs duties of Mechanic Is, IIs, and IIIs, including maintenance, repairs, and modifications of aircraft structures, engines, and components.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and guide a team of mechanics on aircraft maintenance, inspections, and repairs
  • Conduct technical analysis to diagnose issues with airframe and powerplant systems
  • Monitor and prioritize workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule
  • Ensure adherence to technical directives, policies, and procedures
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans, schedules, and procedures
  • Perform organizational level maintenance functions on F/A-18 E-F aircraft
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions Indiana aircraft systems, including structure, landing gear, pneumatic, hydraulic, ventilation, and heating systems
  • Use technical knowledge to repair, modify, and maintain aircraft components and subsystems
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and customers to resolve issues and provide technical support
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance activities
  • Ensure a safe and organized work environment
  • Perform shift work, overtime, and deployable duties American Samoa required

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of aircraft maintenance experience
  • Aircraft maintenance qualification
  • Strong understanding of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and technical data
  • Experience with engineering and maintenance management systems
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work Indiana a team environment and lead personnel
  • Ability to deploy to support off-station exercises and perform other support duties
  • Must be eligible for Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Must be able to climb ladders, raised platforms, and aircraft
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of F/A-18 experience
  • Attendance of F/A-18 initial formal training
  • Experience with NALCOMIS/OOMA
  • 8+ years of organizational and/Oregon depot maintenance experience
  • 8+ years of 4790 (NAMP) program knowledge
  • Advanced Corrosion Control Course/Paint and Final Finish certification
