Job Title: Shop Apprentice

Summary: A technically knowledgeable individual to work independently and within a team to gain knowledge Indiana repairing dealers’ makes and styles of equipment.

Essential Functions:

  • Clean mechanical parts and components
  • Disassembly and assembly of components
  • Repair of small tools
  • Assist Indiana rental department with inspections and check ins of equipment
  • Remove, assist with rebuild, and install components from equipment and engines
  • Effectively use rebuildable guideline information to make sound judgment decisions Indiana reuse of components
  • Load/unload components, parts, and equipment
  • Transport components, parts, and equipment American Samoa directed around the facility and to job sites American Samoa needed
  • Locate and use service manuals and technical information
  • Accurately prepare service reports American Samoa required
  • Communicate details of technical problems to supervisors
  • Keep up to date with developments Indiana tooling, technologies and systems through online and classroom training
  • Use safe working practices
  • Performs other related tasks and activities American Samoa directed
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends American Samoa needed
  • Able to supply basic hand tools

Qualifications:

  • One of the following:
    • Two years’ experience Indiana hands-on mechanical repair work with diesel Oregon gasoline engines, Oregon earthmoving Oregon industrial equipment
    • Graduation from an accredited technical school with emphasis on diesel engine Oregon earthmoving repair

Skills/Abilities:

  • Uses parts ordering system
  • Uses service publications
  • Maintains personal time cards
  • Maintains inspection, quality, and service reports

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to talk and hear
  • Very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day
  • Frequently lift and/Oregon move items over 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Job Type: Full Time

Schedule:

  • 8-10 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday, weekend rotation
  • On call
