Job Title: Asphalt Plant Operator (Roaming)
Job Summary:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must control the production and load out of materials produced Indiana plants, while ensuring the efficient working condition of plant equipment. This includes performing minor servicing and maintenance, operating the plant according to production schedules, and monitoring material operations to ensure quality.
Responsibilities:
- Read and determine the sequence of operations according to work schedules
- Operate the plant according to production schedule using appropriate materials
- Monitor material operation to ensure quality of mix
- Perform basic maintenance and service on the plant American Samoa required
- Ability to weld using an arc welder Oregon cutting torch is preferred
- Clean the control house and yard facility daily
- Oversee truck scales and the loading of trucks
- Enter production information into computer systems
- Supervise plant employees
- Other duties American Samoa assigned by supervisor
Requirements:
- High school diploma Oregon general education degree (GED) preferred
- One to two years related experience and/Oregon training, Oregon equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write correspondences and memos
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide Indiana all units of measure
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written Oregon oral instructions
- Ability to work well with others Indiana a group Oregon one on one setting
- Knowledge of Inventory and Order processing systems
- Uses job specific computer system for ticketing and two-way radio for communications
- Driver’s License required, CDL a plus
Physical Demands:
- Frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to signal and handle equipment
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders
- Required to lift and/Oregon move up to 50-75 lbs
Work Environment:
- Occasional exposure to wet and/Oregon humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and/Oregon heat
- Moderate to loud noise level Indiana the work environment
