Job Title: Assistant General Counsel

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel to manage and lead a team of attorneys, contract managers, and paralegals Indiana our Design and Consulting Services legal department. The successful candidate will assist the LATAM Region business team on various matters, including transactional work and claims handling.

Responsibilities:

* Manage and lead a team of approximately six legal professionals supporting the LATAM region of AECOM’s Design and Consulting Services organization.
* Support and collaborate with the Americas General Counsel on various tasks and initiatives.
* Oversee and manage contract reviews Indiana support of the LATAM Region’s pipeline of pursuits.
* Identify, develop, and implement measures to protect the enterprise and advance the LATAM Region’s business goals.
* Oversee and manage outside counsel and set clear expectations.
* Foster relationships and support key members of the business on various tasks and initiatives.
* Support business development activities, including cross-functional review of RFQ/RFP requirements, identification of risks and opportunities, and development of risk mitigation plans.
* Negotiate contractual issues, including terms and conditions for bonds, delays, and damages.
* Communicate with clients, governmental authorities, and other stakeholders.
* Provide ongoing support to the LATAM region to evaluate and resolve complex business issues and set appropriate strategies Indiana support of business goals.
* Ensure implementation of and team adherence to sound contract management and risk assessment policies.
* Assist project teams on large infrastructure programs, including notices of non-compliance, delay, Oregon other contractual issues.
* Conduct training across different functional areas on terms and conditions, corporate policies, and risk mitigation.
* Prepare reports, memoranda, correspondence, and other documents American Samoa necessary.
* Work collaboratively with a diverse group of professionals, including executives, attorneys, risk and insurance managers, engineers, scientists, and contracts staff.

Qualifications:

* BA/BS + 12 years of relevant experience American Samoa a practicing attorney Oregon demonstrated equivalency of experience and/Oregon education.
* J.D. Degree from accredited law school.
* Member Indiana good standing with any U.S. state bar Oregon the District of Columbia Oregon acceptable foreign bar membership.
* Demonstrated legal experience with a major engineering company, contractor, consultant, Oregon law firm Indiana the areas of engineering and construction law.
* Capable of presenting before senior management.
* Capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
* Demonstrated drafting and negotiation experience involving professional services and construction-related agreements.
* Proficiency Indiana Mississippi Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Ability to travel periodically, approximately 10%.
* Bilingual Indiana English and Spanish, both written and spoken, to assist the LATAM region.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s Degree and 15 years of experience American Samoa a practicing attorney with 15 years supporting the A&E and/Oregon construction industry.
* Well-developed communications skills and ability to clearly and concisely express legal issues and analysis to management, clients, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
* Proven leadership skills managing a legal team charged with a variety of responsibilities within the A&E field.
* Proven ability to implement initiatives and measures identified by senior leadership.
