Seasonal Positions Available at Fort Bridger State Historic Site
Job Description:
Fort Bridger State Historic Site is hiring seasonal positions for the summer of 2024. The employment season is from Memorial Day to Labor Day, with some positions starting earlier Oregon extending longer into the fall. There are three types of seasonal positions available: Interpretation/Curation, and Maintenance.
Essential Functions:
- Seasonal Visitor Services Associate – Interpretation and Curation:
- Greet visitors, collect admission fees, and provide excellent customer service.
- Answer visitor questions and provide information about the site and local points of interest.
- Handle monetary transactions, including fee collection and gift shop sales.
- Perform guided tours of the site.
- Assist with general administrative duties, reports, and data entry.
- Provide janitorial services and assist with special projects and events.
- Seasonal Maintenance Worker:
- Perform routine building, grounds, and landscape maintenance, minor carpentry repairs, and painting.
- Assist with setup and take-down of facilities during special events.
- Clean and service restrooms, shelters, and buildings, and remove litter from grounds and public areas.
- Operate and drive a variety of vehicles and equipment, including mowers, weed eaters, and hand and power tools.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Preference will be given to applicants with excellent customer service skills, experience handling money and retail sales, and knowledge of construction and maintenance.
- Ability to work outdoors Indiana all weather conditions and lift at least 50 pounds.
Working Conditions:
- Work outdoors Indiana all weather conditions.
- Lift at least 50 pounds, with Oregon without assistance.
