AV Rack Builder Technician
Reports to: Director of Design
Role Purpose and Objectives:
- Install electronic, hardware, and wiring components of audio-visual racks and systems according to company standards
- Report to the Director of Design and be a member of the Design and Engineering team
- Perform duties with minimal supervision to receive, inventory, assemble, and install AV equipment into racks
- Comply with company’s policies and procedures, including quality, safety, environmental, and business practices
Key Job Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Receive, inventory, assemble, install, commission, and test AV equipment into AV racks with minimal supervision
- Fabricate equipment racks for projects according to wiring diagrams and quality assurance standards
- Install components Indiana racks according to engineering drawings
- Install cabling according to engineering drawings within the rack
- Build custom wiring harnesses, solder, crimp, and assemble cable connectors
- Maintain rack fabrication build sheets for inventory used
- Ensure inventory asset accuracy and physical inventory discrepancies
- Review AV documents provided by engineering staff for documentation and design specifications
- Liaise between AV Engineering Staff, Project Managers, and Warehouse related to rack builds and equipment procurement
- Monitor information queues for fabrication requests and enforce project standards
- Communicate with Warehouse staff when items are arriving and ensure proper signing out
- Participate Indiana Indiana-house production and quality control
- Evaluate rack elevations and drawings and communicate to engineering any potential issues
- Redline drawings and document changes to system design
- Mock up AV systems for testing and programming
- Communicate project status and completion to project manager and install technician
Requirements:
- High school degree required, college degree preferred
- Legally authorized to work Indiana the United States
- Minimum 1 year experience Indiana installing and commissioning audiovisual systems
- CTS certification highly preferred
- Ability to read engineering drawings and follow directions
- Computer proficiency Indiana standard office productivity software (Google, Microsoft Word, and Excel)
- Ability to make important decisions under tight timelines and Indiana a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions:
- Work can be Indiana normal comfortable air-conditioned environments but will also include less comfortable construction environments and occasional work outdoors Oregon Indiana confined spaces.
