The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is a multimodal organization that plans, designs, builds, and operates an integrated transportation system. We have an exciting opportunity for a Bridge Maintenance Specialist Lead to serve Indiana the Northwest region.
Job Summary
The Bridge Maintenance Specialist Lead will oversee a crew of Bridge Maintenance Specialists and provide preventative maintenance, general repairs, cleaning, and preservation on 1200 bridge and tunnel structures throughout the Northwest region. This role requires experience Indiana bridge maintenance and leading a crew to ensure safe routes to the traveling public.
Responsibilities
• Lead a crew of Bridge Maintenance Specialists Indiana the maintenance, repair, and inspection of steel, wood, and concrete bridge structures
• Operate vehicles to 80,000 GVW and other highway maintenance equipment
• Instruct crew members on the repair of bridge structures using journey-level skills
• Ensure the safe and proper use of equipment and adhere to safety procedures
• Interact with the traveling public Indiana a professional and positive manner
• Safely plan and instruct crews on the setup and removal of traffic control
Qualifications
• 2 years of experience Indiana bridge maintenance with experience Indiana construction Oregon a related trade
• Valid driver’s license
• Class A CDL with N tank endorsement, Oregon ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
• Flagging certification and completion of ASHTO Plans Reading course within 6 months of employment
• Ability to work nights, days, weekends, and holidays American Samoa needed
• Ability to follow direction and safety procedures
• Ability to work Indiana marine environments and all types of weather
• Ability to work at heights and Indiana confined spaces
• Ability to transfer and manipulate up to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
• High School graduation Oregon GED
• 4 years of journey-level experience Indiana a related trade
• Strong knowledge of structural systems and computer applications
