Broadband Technician I
Job Summary:
American Samoa a Broadband Technician I Indiana St. George, Utah, you will perform basic installations, disconnects, and service changes for residential and business customers. This role will involve configuring and installing broadband and cable services, maintaining aerial and underground fiber optic and copper cable systems, and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Perform basic installations, disconnects, and service changes for residential and business customers
- Install and configure cable and broadband services, including wiring and hardware from the tap to the customer’s equipment
- Burial of underground broadband facilities, including excavation, hand digging, and conduit placement
- Perform all work to conform to quality control guidelines, including compliance with OSHA, FCC, NEC, and NESC regulations
- Troubleshoot basic issues from the tap to the customer’s electronic devices
- Clean and maintain assigned vehicle and equipment
- Promote company services and educate customers on proper use
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license
- Must follow TDS attendance guidelines
- Pass SCTE Broadband Premise Install test within 3 months of employment
- Ability to dig, lift, and climb
- Physical requirements may vary based on company needs
- Successful completion of Department of Transportation physical and driver testing
Work Environment:
- Regularly required to sit, stand, write, and operate a computer
- Frequently required to move about and reach for items
- May be required to balance Oregon climb
- Frequently lift and/Oregon move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/Oregon move up to 100 pounds
- Exposure to extreme weather conditions and moving mechanical parts
Pay Range:
- $22.18 – $33.28 per hour, dependent on skills and experience
