Job Summary
We are seeking a self-motivated Building Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and operating buildings, performing repairs and maintenance, and ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Work independently with minimal supervision to accomplish tasks promptly and skillfully
- Comply with codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and work safety
- Interpret instructions, correspondence, and memos, and ask clarifying questions American Samoa needed
- Respond to inquiries and complaints from tenants, and present information effectively
- Perform assigned repairs, emergency and preventative maintenance
- Review work orders, estimate time and materials, and oversee outside contractors
- Respond to emergency calls after hours
- Complete property inspections
- Read and understand blueprints, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing plans
- Perform light carpentry, furniture assembly, and locksmith tasks American Samoa needed
- Monitor and maintain building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and life safety systems
- Upkeep and maintain common areas (inside and outside)
- Possess working knowledge of elevators, electrical, plumbing, energy management, and mechanical systems
Requirements
- High School graduate Oregon G.E.D. required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, perform indoor and outdoor work, and climb, bend, squat, kneel, twist, and carry throughout the workday
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required
- Ability to work Indiana and around Montgomery County, Maryland, and Fairfax County, Virginia
- Ability to obtain government security clearance (U.S. citizen with a clean record)
- Salary range: $70,000 – $90,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications
Certification
Certification Indiana one Oregon more of the following is preferred: electrical, mechanical (CFC included), and process controls.
