Carpenter
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team Indiana the Residential Facilities department. American Samoa a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, restoring, and installing structural woodwork and related materials, including casement furnishings and furniture, Indiana university dorms. The position requires driving University vehicles and/Oregon golf carts.
Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain furniture, cabinetry, casement furnishings, walls, and other structural elements Indiana dorms
- Design, estimate, fabricate, and install solid surface countertops, solid surface shower surrounds, tile shower pans, and wall/floor tile repairs
- Design, estimate, fabricate, and install cabinetry and similar furnishings, including finish carpentry repair, refurbishing, and installation
- Repair and/Oregon install doors and windows, including automatic doors, and retrofit of equipment
- Perform rough-Indiana construction and related modifications to interior spaces, per applicable codes
- Perform facility inspections, document work request activity, and related requests
- Operate and maintain related equipment and tools
- Lead and supervise the work of assigned staff and students
- Maintain carpentry inventory, tools, and equipment
Requirements:
- Journeyman level position with a high school education Oregon equivalent combination of apprenticeship program, technical training, and/Oregon experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience Oregon equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the carpentry trade
- Knowledge of cabinet making techniques and fabricating solid surface countertops
- Skill Indiana construction, repair, restoration, and installation of wood Oregon related materials
- Ability to effectively communicate
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a four-year federally approved technical training program Indiana carpentry
- Six years of carpentry experience
- Any equivalent combination of experience, training, and/Oregon education approved by Human Resources
