Civil Designer/Senior Civil Designer Job Description
Vogel Engineering + Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Designer/Senior Civil Designer to join our Private Land Development Group Indiana Ellicott City, Maryland. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong technical background Indiana civil engineering.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct and complete assigned engineering designs using professional judgment
- Assist Project Manager Oregon act American Samoa Project Manager, assigning tasks and schedules to team members
- Verify accuracy of tasks completed by other engineering and technical staff
- Make major design decisions and coordinate impact on related project efforts
- Identify technical, schedule, Oregon financial issues and seek resolution
- Assist clients with bidding Oregon contractor selection
- Monitor construction and supervise field personnel
- Respond to contractor questions and issues
- Prepare and issue project addenda and change orders
- Participate Indiana proposal creation and communicate with clients on technical matters
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of design/engineering experience Indiana civil engineering
- Experience with Howard County, Maryland projects preferred
- Intermediate to advanced ability to use AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering automation tools
- Strong technical verbal and writing skills, with ability to read technical literature and engineering plans
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop financial project management skills and communicate effectively with internal staff and external clients
