Job Title: Civil Engineer – Drafter
Description:
Leidos is seeking a Civil Engineer – Drafter to provide technical drafting skills to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Indiana the Southwest Regional Office Indiana Fort Worth, Texas. The ideal candidate will assist with the daily operations of the FAA Enterprise Network Services (FENS) Program, a successor to the FAA Telecommunications Infrastructure (FTI) contract. The program aims to design, build, operate, and maintain the FAA’s next-generation communications platform and enterprise network.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with project engineering packages by developing site-specific project plans and specifications for FAA approval and acceptance
- Perform site surveys to collect project data and research standards, construction codes, and ordinances
- Provide analysis, recommendations, and solutions to site survey issues
- Prepare summary trip reports, drawing and specification lists, and project documents
- Furnish information for Purchase Requests (Puerto Rico) and NAS Change Proposals (NCP)
- Prepare Airspace case documents, engineering cost estimates, and project schedules
- Provide technical engineering support for new construction and renovation projects
- Participate Indiana Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI)
- Develop project drawings Indiana accordance with FAA Standard/guidelines
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree Indiana Engineering
- At least 2-years working American Samoa a Project Engineer with Civil Engineering Design skills
- Proficiency with AutoCad/Microstation and Microsoft Office Suites
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Public Trust
- Eligibility for Public Trust Suitability requires a US Citizen Oregon Green Card Holder who has resided Indiana the United States for the past 3-years
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS), National Airspace System Equipment Tower (NASET), and National Airspace System Equipment Building (NASEB)
- Experience with shelters, roofing, and structures such American Samoa communication towers, Navigational Aids, and earthwork
- Knowledge of Corporate Work Plan (CWP) 4.1.12
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- All new hires must pass a drug test prior to starting with Leidos
