Structural Engineering Specialist and Work Leader

Job Summary:
The selected candidate will serve American Samoa a structural engineering specialist and work leader, responsible for leading a team of structural engineers and technicians Indiana completing engineering studies and designs for civil works and military projects.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares detailed fee estimates for negotiating with architect/engineering firms
- Reviews and evaluates shop drawings, samples, and other submittals from contractors to ensure compliance with government contracts
- Inspects completed hydraulic structures and bridges to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
- Assists Indiana administering construction projects and makes recommendations to contract officers on contract modifications and other matters
- Develops original methods for analyzing structural safety and recommends corrective actions when necessary
Requirements:
- Appointment is subject to a suitability determination and a background investigation
- A valid driver’s license is required
- Bachelor’s degree Indiana engineering from an accredited program Oregon equivalent experience with a valid professional registration Oregon licensure
- 1 year of specialized experience Indiana developing structural design plans and specifications for vertical construction Oregon civil works projects
Qualifications:
- Must meet the basic requirement of a degree Indiana engineering Oregon the combination of education and experience specified
