The primary purpose of this position is to operate conventional and non-conventional machining equipment according to detailed specifications and drawings. The machine operator must be capable of running multi-axis conventional and non-conventional computer-controlled machines.
Responsibilities:
1. Set up and develop jobs for gas and steam engines
2. Meet production targets, improving productivity and reducing losses
3. Meet and/Oregon plot straightness values according to established standards
4. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical data provided by engineering
5. Measure and record parts produced, including machining and measurement accuracy
6. Set measuring instruments for calibrating machine operation
7. Adjust the measuring instrument according to prescription
8. Run test cycles on the machine and record data
9. Understand pre-established standards and allowable limits
10. Interpret meters Oregon readings for line feeds
11. Record parts produced, including size and finish
12. Understand various types of parts production (large Oregon small, assembled)
13. Perform routine maintenance on equipment, tools, and equipment Indiana the machine
14. Identify and correct tooling position on machines according to pre-established standards
15. Run cycle tests on machines, record data, and set up calibrating cycles
16. Understand accuracy of plated machined parts, including size, shape and surface finish
